You know, I had to look this one up to believe it. And I’m still not convinced, it being April 1st and all. I suppose it’s possible the Queen is in on the gag.

Dohbama strikes again

Good Lord, is there not one person in the 500 person entourage that reads Hello! magazine? Not only does the Queen already own an Ipod, she’s also got a Wii. I mean, she’s the Queen for pete’s sake – she probably has three of everything, ever! When I was so unceremoniously thrown from a horse in Windsor Park years ago, (ok, I fell) I could have sworn I saw a Dodo bird – and they’re supposed to be extinct. Really, if you want to give the Queen a gift, just write her a heartfelt note in a Hallmark card so that you won’t get your feelings hurt when she throws it on the fire.

But you can imagine the 23 year old staffer who actually thought the Ipod was a great idea. Nevermind the fact it’s not even made in America. Hey, maybe Barry should have given her one of those Chevy Volts – you know, boost sales abroad and all. Or some Marlboros – I hear tobacco sales are about to slump.

Anyway, am I the only one who is confounded by these abrupt and deliberate affronts towards our oldest ally, the British? Or am I just touchy because Wrench is taking this all personally? Or, as my “Spidey senses” are telling me, is there a method to this madness? I don’t know about you, but thinking about all the dubious reasons why the Prez of the US might intentionally be alienating us from our greatest ally has this conspiracy theory buff quaking in her Wellies? Didn’t Russia park a bunch of destroyers of Cuba just last month?
