GOPMOM Note : More girding (re: Prop 8) - UPDATED

UPDATED BELOW
Um, excuse me, but I have a question.  If, as I keep hearing, the election of Obama isn’t really a Liberal “mandate”, not the final nail in the Conservative coffin, the US is still a moderate nation, and there really is nothing to be afraid of, why are all the gay marriage militants protesting [...]

GOPMOM Note: Liberal = Child

So it’s been a week, sort of, and the bombardment from the Left has not let up.  What is wrong with these people?  They remind me of ungrateful, spoiled brats on Christmas morning that got everything they wanted but are angry that someone else got something they forgot to ask for.  They got what they [...]

Washington Post admits they were very pro Obama.

The Post provided a lot of good campaign coverage, but readers have been consistently critical of the lack of probing issues coverage and what they saw as a tilt toward Democrat Barack Obama. My surveys, which ended on Election Day, show that they are right on both counts.
My assistant, Jean Hwang, and I have been [...]

Gird your loins

“Today the American people have made their voices heard, and they have said, ‘Things are finally as terrible as we’re willing to tolerate, to elect a black man, in this country, and at this time—these last eight years must have really broken you… It’s a great day for our nation.”

Of Religion and Politics - 48 hours to go

In church this morning, I prayed for deliverance. I got down on my knees and asked God to guide me, guide us, through the next two days. I asked for wisdom, compassion, understanding and deliverance. I’m not big on praying – I’m kind of a do it yourself girl.

40 Acres for every Ass

There is a lot in the interview to take in. The obvious point is that Obama believes that the courts did not do enough during the Civil Rights Movement, that the courts are limited and that the legislative branches of our government must now take on the administrative task of addressing the “more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society”.

The Ideological Ultimatum that is 2008

As this year’s elections get closer and closer and the distractions get louder and louder, I think many of us lose sight of what this election could (and does) mean for the USA. We have two men, two diametrically opposite politicians, vying for the highest office in the land, arguably the highest office in the world. And they are in a statistical tie. It would appear we have some thinking to do.

It is Un-American - UPDATED

I’ve mentioned before the house I periodically drive by that hangs the homemade political signs on their fence out front. The resident(s) make(s) these homemade signs, black magic marker on poster board, that say things like “We need Hope” and “Change is Good”.

GOPMOM Note: Obama’s Tax Plan - is it class warfare or “Social Responsibility”?

Listening to local talk radio out of Boston is one of those rare treats I wish I could share with the rest of the nation.  It is so refreshing to hear people come right out and defend socialism.  I don’t imagine you hear mush of this in America, unless you live in Boston, NY or San [...]

Crossing Obama - The tale of Joe the Plumber

I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that the “Joe the Plumber” hullabaloo is still alive and kicking. I’ve been pretty busy but I’m dying to get my two cents in. You see, I just love it when current events prove me to be spot on with my criticism of Obama, the elitist.

How I see (saw) Sarah Palin

And then, there she was, on the stage not thirty feet from us. Sarah Palin, right down front, waving and smiling and laughing with the crowd. She had to have been thrilled with all the kids there - she waved to them all. We knew right there and then, judging by the looks of pure joy on our kids’ faces, we’d done a good thing.

An Enlightening Conversation

Turns out, she and her husband are supporting and voting for Barack Obama. Let me tell you, in a million years I would not have guessed this. I almost crashed my car ““ yes, I know, no talking on the phone while in the car. After asking her to repeat herself multiple times, laughing in disbelief and then looking around for the “You’re on Candid Camera” guy, I realized she wasn’t kidding. I asked the obvious question.

The Bail-Out Debacle (Why my prediction was wrong)

First off, I will admit that I was wrong in my predictions for Friday. But I’m thrilled that no bail-out legislation has gone through and not really that upset because, as I stated, I do this for free. But I will admit, I would have gloated happily had I been right - and [...]
