One Year Later – Obama Can’t Sell Healthcare Reform, Either
Despite the claims of Democrats that Americans want their version of healthcare reform – and their repeated claims that Republicans have been standing in the way for forty years or more – it is abundantly clear that what really stands in the way of Obama/Pelosi/Reid’s version of healthcare reform is voters.

There is no arguing with these polls. It is time to kill the House bill, abandon the Senate bills and start over on actually reforming a system that works for 80% of the population, not destroying it.
And then there’s this.

Left wing Dems are angry Congress can’t get this done, Republicans are thrilled their reps are holding this up and Independents as holding everyone at bay. The reality is that if Independents wanted the Democrats reform, the healthcare polls would reflect that – and they don’t. So, either the Dems can lie, cheat and steal their way into passing reform (now, now, now) and lose big next year or they continue with this dog and pony show, distracting the majority from all the other horrors they are heaping on us. (See Dodd financial system reform bill.) If the Democrats and the Administration don’t figure this out pretty quickly – and it is unlikely they will as they see healthcare reform as a critical power grab – even this Hail Mary pass won’t save them.
