Healthcare Reform Imminent ? – Can’t trust those Democrats
From this morning’s “Morning Bell” @ The Heritage Foundation -
So just how close are we to being inflicted with the Obama/Moore dream of anti-capitalist, competition-free, government-run health care? Closer than many realize. Multiple sources on the Hill have told The Foundry that as early as next week, the Senate could be debating Obamacare. Senate Majority Leader Reid has stated an intention to take the HELP Committee product and merge it with the Senate Finance Committee markup that is expected to be over by this Thursday or Friday. Their plan is to proceed to a House passed non-health care bill to provide a shell of legislation to give Obamacare a ride to the House and then straight to the President’s desk.
I guess we just can’t make it any plainer that we don’t want their “reforms”. From Gallup -

It’s not that the Dems don’t know our feelings on their proposed “reforms”. They simply do not care. They never cared. Did you attend a Town Hall sales pitch this past summer? As I’ve said before, this is all about Dem power and voter dependence. If they can’t get this passed quickly, they have no hope of keeping even a tentative grip on power. I don’t think they’ll hold on to it anyway – 2010 is looking like a route – but the damage their brand of reform will do to our existing healthcare system will take years, if not decades, to correct. Look at what a night mare Medicare is.
Read the entire Heritage blog article, especially those of you who were overjoyed at the pubic option amendment defeat in the Baucus bill yesterday, myself included. Then send some messages to those Dems who are hesitating but have been threatened with losing their seats. Assure them they most certainly are out of a job if they vote for this. As for if they vote against, we’ll have to wait and see.

We must remember that this is not a partisan issue. This is people against career politicians. Every concerned Patriot needs to get out a map of the district he votes in and begin plotting how he will get as many people who live in that district together to elect a candidate as soon as possible. Career politicians Must be replaced with Representatives of the people in 2010.Remember to concentrate only on those who are able to vote in the distict YOU vote in. Get YOUR represenitives replaced by A trusted friend of YOURS.
I’m with you 100%. I just reorganized my town’s Republican Town Committee – I feel the GOP is still the best avenue for a resurgence of Conservative leadership. We will be hosting a US senate candidate this weekend. And we will be searching for recruiting candidates for other local and state elections.
Good but you are trying to take on more than your local district your efforts are diffused over a wide area. Concentrate on the district you vote in Get your local reps replaced by friends of YOURS. let each district run itself with a Local Rep whose loyalty resides with the people in his district, not with a larger party. Each district needs to get its own reps from within its boundaries
In order to defeat the machine, this movement has to be between friends, passed along by personal contact, ignoring the clamor of the media, and ignoring Party. EVERY career politician must be replaced by candidates chosen by their friends and neighbors, not Party hacks. So Stop working for the party and start working for yourself. If you succeed in getting A REAL person in place of a career politician in YOUR district, you will have done your job as an AMERICAN CITIZEN, AND LIVED UP TO YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.
Whicket, That is exactly what my little group is doing. We’re just doing it under the banner of the GOP. We’re not picking pols, we’re finding new Conservatives to support. I don’t work for the Party, I work for my community, my state and my country – mostly for my family. I would see 90% or more of them booted out of office. But I also see many good people already involved with the GOP and I feel it is worth it to just work within.
I know many out there are ready to abandon the GOP – or already have. I’m not there – yet. Yes, the pols abandoned us but we let them.
