Below are a few quotes from Liz Cheney’s address at the Redstate Gathering in Atlanta.  Go here for the rest.  It will soothe your soul to know there are still people out there who understand the truth of where Obama’s policies will take us and what the ramifications of his uninformed policies will be.  Every one of us who ever stood on a school playground understands the only way to beat a bully is to stand up to him.  This is a lesson we need to teach Obama – before it is too late.

It has become somewhat fashionable today to talk about conservatives and conservatism as a movement in peril. In some quarters, we’re said to be near death. I am here today to tell you that nothing could be further from the truth. All across the country, Americans are standing up to be heard at meetings like this, at tea parties, on blogs, at town hall meetings, and we see it in the polls — the message to the Obama Administration is clear — we have grave concerns about the path they’ve put us on.

As your congressmen and senators come home this month, I hope you’ll take the time to let them know how you feel about ideas like “Cap and Trade” and the Democrats’ health care reform plans. I hope you’ll also take the time to register your concern about what this Administration is doing to dismantle policies that have kept us safe from terrorist attack since 9/11. Speak up about President Obama’s decision to cut defense spending in crucial areas like missile defense, and register your concern about his efforts to appease America’s enemies by rewriting history and perpetuating lies about us.

Americans expect our President to defend us against lies, not embrace or ignore them. We also expect our President to know his history. Some of the most dangerous steps this President has taken make one wonder how much time he’s spent studying the history of the 20th century. In Russia and earlier in France, President Obama declared that American nuclear disarmament will encourage the North Koreans and the Iranians to give up their nuclear ambitions. Another Democratic President, one who led at the beginning of the Cold War, understood the danger of this approach. In April 1950, President Harry Truman, signed a National Security Strategy that pointed out, “No people in history have preserved their freedom who thought that by not being strong enough to protect themselves, they might prove inoffensive to their enemies.”

Get to your Congressional Representative’s office for the Recess Rally on Saturday, August 22nd, 12:00 PM.  Show the White House that you’re angry, you’re fed up and you’re just another ordinary American.  Laugh in their faces when they claim you’re some sort of “community organizer” stirring up hatred – that’s their MO, not ours.  Join thousands across the nation as we once again express our utter disgust with the destructive policies of the Obama administration. Cap and Trade is not a done deal and so called healthcare reform is, thankfully, floundering.  But we must continue to resist.  We must put our Representatives “on notice”.  We must “get in their faces”.

Sure. You remember that, right? We have an opportunity that cannot be wasted.  The tide of public opinion has turned against these policies.  We have, irnoically, read these bills  and understand what they are – colossal power grabs.  The White House knows that many of us have seen these policies for what they are and they are doubling down on the dirty work to push through these policies while they still have the support of so many in Congress.  Make sure your representatives know they will lose their job – and their excellent healthcare coverage – if they continue to support such outrageous policies, policies that will bankrupt our nation, tax all of us into financial hardship for decades, damage our health and threaten the security of our great nation.

The verdict is in.  Cap and Trade is nothing more than grand theft.  Healthcare “reform” is nothing more than the ultimate government intrusion in our lives.  Obama’s foreign policy is just an extension of his domestic policy – redistribution of power and “social justice” gone haywire.  It’s time to stand up and stop his march to destruction.
