So, police departments and unions across the state and the country (not to mention,  overwhelmingly the entire population) have come out to support the officer that acted “stupidly” when he arrested a belligerent and abusive member of Obama’s clique.  This officer didn’t act stupidly, he just didn’t realize that when the esteemed scholar of African-American research said “You don’t know who you’re messing with” he meant to imply that he was a friend of the Governor of Massachusetts, the POTUS and a myriad of people who have made their living  exploiting black hate and white guilt.

The Cambridge and area police unions voiced their support Friday for Sgt. James Crowley and called for an apology from President Obama for saying officers “acted stupidly” for arresting black Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. at his home.

The various police representatives want an apology – and they got one, if you’re measuring in Liberal terms.  You see, when it comes to Liberals, you don’t get an apology, you get a “they both could have done better”.  Come on, a Kindergartner could recognize a non-apology.

As if getting schooled nationally for his original ridiculous statement at the presser the other night and then his lame comments in an interview later on, he had to get in front of the podium again today, even though he is distressed at all the attention this incident is getting and proclaim himself as having made peace with Sgt. Crowley.

He could have “calibrated the words differently”.  This is a “teachable moment.”

No, Barack, this was a learnable moment and you failed.

“My sense is you’ve got two good people in a circumstance in which neither of them were able to resolve it the way the wanted to resolve it,” President Obama said.

Fair enough, but the police officer has to confront this kind of prejudice and discrimination and doubt everyday, all the while trying to determine who the “real” bad guys are.  Gates lives in a protected Liberal elite bubble.  Whether you like it or not, this is a chicken and egg argument.  Who behaved badly first?  So far, it looks like Gates jumped the gun and made some assumptions about an officer who had been sent to investigate a possible crime.  As I’ve said elsewhere, maybe Gates did have ID showing he should have access to the house – he didn’t have to be an ass about getting it out.  He should have been appreciative, considering his rental unit had been broken into previously.  And so what if his driver’s license listed the address?  Maybe he no longer was supposed to have access?  Maybe he had been evicted?  Maybe there was a Restraining Order and someone protected by it was inside.  There are many reasons for a person to break into their own home and forgetting your keys is only one of them.

I would love all of this to go away but the Obama admin cannot let a crisis go to waste.  This is an opportunity to foment even more racial divides, to distract from the issues at hand (economy & healthcare) and an opportunity to make himself appear human.  All fails.

And we’re still talking about your sucky stimulus bill and your even suckier healthcare “reform” schemes.
