“Cambridge Cop Says Obama’s ‘Stupidly’ Comment Disappoints Him”
Sometimes it really sucks living in America, doesn’t it? I mean, in how many countries around the world does the leader make a point of publicly ridiculing “a first responder”, knowing full well the firestorm of hate that will fall onto this officer?
From FoxNews -
A white police sergeant who arrested renowned black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. said Thursday he’s disappointed President Obama said officers acted “stupidly” without knowing all the facts.
Sgt. James Crowley responded to Gates’ home near Harvard University last week to investigate a report of a burglary and demanded Gates show him identification. Police say Gates at first refused and accused the officer of racism.
Gates was charged with disorderly conduct. The charge was dropped Tuesday, and Gates has since demanded an apology from Crowley.
Surprise, surprise. Turns out Obama and the esteemed scholar of “African-American Research” are friends. And did we forget the Prez admitted he didn’t have all the facts. That did not stop him from running off at the mouth, though, making jokes that he might experience the same thing if he tried to “jigger” the door on his Chicago mansion. He just thinks it’s unfortunate that a black man (or a Latino, for that matter) still can’t get a break in America.
Oh for Pete’s sake, you’re the Leader (choke) of the Free World. If you can’t get over it, how can we possibly expect anyone else to? You’ve been handed monumental wealth and success on a silver plated platter and you’re still clinging to your bitterness? Grow the F up, already. We might as well just abandon all that diversity/affirmative action/integration BS right now because we’re never gonna’ be forgiven or forgotten for anything. Anytime a diversion is needed, we roll out the “Racism Express”.
Let’s look at the reality here. In a neighborhood where more than one break-in a week occurs, a neighbor does the Good Samaritan thing and calls police. Police respond rather quickly – nice. Suspicious person is already in the building and refuses to come out when ordered to by police officer – he just shouts out at them it’s alright, it’s my house. When he finally complies, he is belligerent, uncooperative and insulting, screaming accusations of racism at the officer. He continued his tirade as officer goes into house to further investigate. The idiot scholar was not arrested for breaking into his own home, as reported – or rather the house he rents from Harvard. He was arrested for being an asshole – defined as Disorderly Conduct in the criminal code. And the charges should not have been dropped because he was disorderly.
I don’t care who or what you are – if you do not comply with the reasonable request a police officer makes of you, (I say reasonable because some Moron out there will say “what if he told you to strip off your clothes and dance” or some other such nonsense) you not only deserve to spend a night in the clink, you deserve a swift kick to the head. Even if you are an internationally renowned scholar of “Liberal theology”. If this self-righteous asshole had just come out of the house, handed over his ID, as requested, maybe appreciated for a moment that the police were actually attempting to protect his home & given them the benefit of the doubt and given the officer a moment to verify his identity, we wouldn’t have to suffer through the inevitable character assassination this officer will be subjected to over the next week (or month) at the hands of the MSM. Joe the Plumber redux, as it were.
Come on, I know this is much more entertaining than covering “The Won’s” tanking approval ratings and the death of Universal Healthcare. There’s a lot of mileage to get out of this story. But the fact of the matter is, Mr. “African- Americans are disproportionately profiled” Obama, African-Americans disproportionately commit crimes. Maybe Al Sharpton will show up to march?
And are we all just loving that this happened in Cambridge, Massachusetts? Local boy has all the dirt and a great photo.
Here’s the police report. After reading through, answer me this – Was or was not this tool just looking for an opportunity to shout “I know the Prez”? I hope the officer sues Obama for defamation.

I just wanted to state that I have been a Massachusetts police officer for 33 years. Police officers are different. Black and white, male and female officers would die for each other, respect each other, and appreciate each other’s obstacles while performing our duties. We respect courage and honesty first and foremost and feel each other’s pain and frustrations while we’re trying to do our job. Obama, his advisors, and the liberal media had no idea how we feel about each other in the law enforcement community and thought that race trumped everything and they got a rude awakening. We all hate bigot cops or bad cops and have an affinity for each other that few can understand. I saw that the liberal media was absolutely amazed that a black female officer and a black male officer would speak out in favor of a white cop. They honor courage and are honest cops so naturally they would defend another cop who acted properly. The “race” line is almost non-existent in law enforcement amongst honest and good cops. It was no surprise to those of us in law enforcement. We would die for each other. We appreciate each other and our obstacles in performing our duties. We need each other, we rely on each other, and we appreciate each other and what we bring to the job. I don’t expect others to understand but we feel each other’s pain and frustrations. We might not admit it to each other but we are well aware of the unfairness of every situation involving race and we all hurt. As a white officer I feel the frustration of minority and female officers that must be evaluated with the caveat that they didn’t really deserve the job. I speak for most when I say that we all respect each other and I would hope that we, as a society, can take a lesson from those in law enforcement when it comes to race relations. We insult each other, argue like brothers and sisters, but would die for each other willingly. Our children have more than two parents, we watch out for each other’s families, and it has nothing to do with race. We have moved beyond that because of what we do. I would hope that the rest of America would take a lesson from our community. Race or minority status might mean a lot to the rest of America but it means little to us. We are a brotherhood, sisterhood, and a family of individuals doing a job. We do not compare, we share our problems. If you called me a white racist I know that there are other minority police officers that will defend me if I’m not. The same applies in the opposite situation. I was not surprised when black officers, both male and female, defended the sergeant. It was the right thing to do and they did the right thing. That’s normal for good cops. No surprise. Honesty and courage are the things we cherish, and nothing more. A black female cop defends a white male police officer and the media is surprised? Cops weren’t surprised at all. We all would have done the same thing if it wasn’t true and we are all equally proud of her. Of course we wouldn’t tell her that, we’d flip her the finger and insult her because she is one of us and she would expect nothing less. She’s “one of the guys” which on its surface appears to be some type of insult, but its not. She is a “squared away, honest police officer” which is probably one of the highest compliments you could give her. If someone wants to examine race relations in an effort to improve it then they should look to the law enforcement community. We would put our lives on the line for each other. What more do you need?
Thank you for commenting, Dave. It’s all well and good for us “civilians” to go on all day and night about this, but this is your daily life.
Thank you for your insight – and for your service. God Bless.
Thank you, Dave, for your service.
As the son of a man who was a police officer for 35 years, 18 as a police chief, I can tell you that I appreciate what you have done.
