Sebelius In, Babies Out – Crisis Exploited
So, the Senate confirmed Kathleen Sebelius as HHS Secretary last night and she was sworn in by Obama. Does anyone feel better this morning? I think I might stop in at church and say a prayer – for all of us.
I imagine this is just the first act of the “Swine Flu Crisis Exploitation Team”. I’m waiting with baited breath to see what’s next – actually, I’m just trying not to breath as much seeing as the Swine Flu is now in Massachusetts. But as abominable as this choice is, I have to admit to a sort of morbid curiosity regarding what Sec. Sebelius has in store for us.
Let’s just set aside her lack of qualifications and instead focus on her tax irregularities, her campaign finance irregularities and her abortion practice irregularities. This woman is not even close to representing the overall sentiments of the American public. But why would she – the President doesn’t either and you boobs elected him anyway.

How’s that work? She’s a twice-elected governor of a state. I think the average person understands that kind of executive experience to be qualifying for running a government cabinet office.
The majority of Americans are pro-choice, just like Gov. Sebelius.
Just keep it up. You’re winning hearts and minds left and right with that kind of outreach!
Sebelius is not pro-choice, she is pro-abortion. She makes pro-choice people cringe. I was referring directly to her radical stance on late term abortions, including those conducted in the 9th month of pregnancy. Got a defense for that one? The unborn are dying to hear it. But she is right inline with Obama’s view that a baby is a punishment – something most Americans vehemently disagree with. Despite the Left’s attempts to paint children as an inconvenience and a burden, which I don’t understand considering their leaders are so darned determined to raise them for us, most Americans still feel blessed to have their children and despite being planed or not, most of us happily keep our babies (and many of us wish we could have more.)
Glad you’re not my mom. Yuck. And let’s just try a bit of honesty – she got the job because she’s so radically pro-abortion, as is this administration – because babies cost money, you know.
No one wants our children planned….
Just curious, does the health of the expected mother matter at all? (I know someone was waiting for someone to say that, let me have it:))
Well, WH, I’ve never been shy about my Pro-Life stance. It took me thirty years to get there. I think what is so reprehensible to me is the abortion on demand culture which is a direct descendant of our sex on demand culture. Can we change one without changing the other, I doubt it. And having pro-abortion, exercise your civil rights extremists in policy making positions certainly does not get us there.
As per your question, I believe it is the policy of most physicians to protect the life of the mother before the life of the child, based on the unfortunate truth that the woman could probably have another child at some point but not if she’s dead. But I know from experience this decision, if possible, is decided along with the mother. Because of advances in technology, this scenario is rarer than it was in the past so it seems a kind of “straw man” argument for the left. “Yes, all us pro-lifers are advocating killing women, that’s what we’re saying.” I believe it is a decision best made by individuals, not policy makers. Remember, abortions were performed for this reason, legally, well before Roe happened, for the very reason to protect the life of the mother, for the reason mentioned. And I hardly believe you think that by reversing Roe v Wade and stopping government funding of abortions, which is my preference, we will have an explosion of women dying. Statistically, you cannot support that argument.
My friend suffered from complications during her pregnancy and had to deliver at 23 weeks. She died on the table as they delivered but happily they were able to bring her back. Because of the extreme risk, she spent a week in the hospital before all of this occurred and because of that, both survived and have gone on to live “happily ever after”. No doctor ever asked her if she wanted to abort. In fact, they did all they could to extend the pregnancy as along as possible to ensure a better outcome for the child while protecting the mother. This type of care is available widely across this country. We are lucky to have access to it and should not be so quick to throw it away just to exercise our court-appointed civil right.
Next.
P.S. I’ll give up capital punishment if you’ll give up abortion on demand ie Roe v Wade and government funding, here and abroad. (I want to be specific because you lefties always twist things around so much.)
Thank you for helping me to make up my mind about Ms. Sebelius. I am not in favor of abortions as a general rule, but to advocate for abortions past the third month- let alone the ninth- is offensive! I was equally as disturbed to learn that President Obama wants to legalize partial birth abortions again. When are we going to start treating innocent and good people (such as unborn children) equally and caring a little less about degenerates and/or people who think its okay to have an abortion in which the child has to be killed and then delivered? Lets wise up a little.
Thank you, Jill. You do not have to be Pro-Life to be opposed to abortion on demand at the tax payers expense – I wish more people realized this.
