GOPMOM Note: AIG madness continues – crisis not fully exploited

It’s Saturday, so I’m the one up at dawn with the dogs. And as much as I’d love that extra hour or two of sleep, Wrench has been working his tokhes off and he’s earned a lie in. So I’m up, with coffee, watching the not-so-talented AM crowd on F&F (not Allyson, though, I like Allyson) and low and behold, the AIG Derangement Syndrome – are we calling it that yet – has actually gotten worse.

It would appear the the Connecticut Working Families Party (aka ACORN communists) is offering a ‘Rich and Infamous’ bus tour that actually drives by the private, family homes of the people who supposedly received bonuses from AIG. From the site:

We’re all mad at AIG. Their executives bear a large share of the responsibility for bringing the economy to it’s knees, and now the same folks are getting hundreds of millions of dollars in bonuses — at our expense. Join us for a field trip to bring them the message.

Notice how not one word mentions their Senator, Chris Dodd, who has now, finally, after irrefutable evidence, admitted he allowed and signed off on the bonuses. Does the tour include Dodd’s various abodes around the country world? Who do these people think they are? Did they have parents or were they raised by community organizers? Can they not comprehend the dangerous situation they have created for these soon-to-be-90%-tax-paying citizens, who simply agreed to a contract and then honored said contract? This is insane. And it is all Barack Obama’s fault.  Says the Prez (from Gateway Pundit):

“We had to step in, it was the right thing to do, even though it is infuriating,” Obama said, explaining why the government needed to bail out the troubled banks.

“The same is true with AIG,” he said. “It was the right thing to do to step in. Here’s the problem. It’s almost like they’ve got — they’ve got a bomb strapped to them and they’ve got their hand on the trigger. You don’t want them to blow up. But you’ve got to kind of talk them, ease that finger off the trigger.”

Despicable.  With one fair word from The One, this could all go away. He had no trouble excusing the CEO, Ed Liddy, the other day. And he’s still out there fawning over the job Geithner is doing – the yutz that drafted the agreements. Actually, he could have prevented the entire thing in the first place if he had been willing to own up to the original mistakes made (because honoring contracts in America is now a mistake – take note) and laid blame for this…

What? What is it that is so bad? Could someone please explain to me what the problem is? Answer this – who is better qualified to stimulate the economy? The government, who spends, what, roughly half of every dollar it collects just shuffling paper or a private citizen with a million bucks in his bank account to invest, spend, etc. Which million dollars is better for the economy? Anyone? (In case you haven’t figured it out – the private $ does more for the economy than the government $!) And, if we let them (as if it is our right to let them or not) keep their money, Joe Biden will have more time to hunt down the real spending abuses of the ’stimulus’ money.

Congress wrote despicable, unconstitutional, irresponsible, $787 billion stimulus legislation and Obama signed off on it, allowing the Treasury to give future tax payer money to companies that might otherwise go bankrupt. Then, said companies used to money to continue to conduct business. This is what happened and a bunch of communists in Connecticut think AIG employees are the ones responsible? Please tell me, some of you out there see the absolute folly of this – you see what the intention is here – you realize this is class warfare at its worst.

And does our Prez go out and ask the people to take a breather, gain some perspective, calm down? No, he fuels the flames by assuring the nuts (yes, this is another dig at ACORN) that his admin will do everything in their power – notice no reference to what might actually be legal, just what they are willing to do – to “get these bonuses back.” Sounds quite threatening, doesn’t it? But not even when the death threats started rolling in did the Prez go on TV – and he had many opportunities this week – and encourage the people to calm down. Not once did he suggest that the recipients are only recipients – not policy makers. Because it is the policy makers that are responsible – in Congress, at Treasury. AIG was just conducting business.

No, our Prez just fanned the fire. So today, it’s bus tours. Tomorrow, who knows? Has anyone started a legal fund for these AIG employees? They are going to need an extremely knowledgeable Constitutional lawyer to represent them in their case against the 90% tax, the slander, the condoned harassment. And I’m thinking they should go straight to the top because as he said, “the buck stops with me.”

This is what Jon Green, the Executive Director of this community organization says:

And there may be more protests. The Connecticut Working Families party, which has support from organized labor, is planning a bus tour of A.I.G. executives’ homes on Saturday, with a stop at the company’s Wilton office.

“We’re going to be peaceful and lawful in everything we do,” said Jon Green, the director of Connecticut Working Families. “I know there’s a lot of anger and a lot of rage about what’s happened. We’re not looking to foment that unnecessarily, but what we want to do is give folks in Bridgeport and Hartford and other parts of Connecticut who are struggling and losing their homes and their jobs and their health insurance an opportunity to see what kinds of lifestyle billions of dollars in credit-default swaps can buy.”

Um, Jonny boy, why not host a “Write a Letter to Your Senator” party? Why not host a job fair? A food drive? Why oh why is your first instinct in this to target innocent families, hard working employees, people who have earned their lifestyle, no matter how offensive it might be to you? Good Lord, who beat you up as a child that you are such a tiny, spiteful, jealous, offensive pile of sh&#? ‘Are you truly so deranged that you believe smart, thinking Americans wouldn’t figure out what you’re doing – exploiting a crisis to your own advantage. Oh, or are you auditioning for a job in the administration? Is this crisis fully exploited yet?

Hopefully, all is not lost.
