GOPMOM Event: Newburyport, MA Tea Party – Updated with Report

Well, our signs are made, we’ve had waffles for breakfast and are almost on our way to Newburyport to attend our first Tea Party. Wrench and I are really looking forward to it. We’ll be meeting up with other organizers for the Boston Tax Day Tea Party and joining forces with the Newburyport Republican Town Committee and others in greeting Rep. Tierney (D-MA) as he conducts a Town Hall meeting, apparently to enlighten us as to the Obama Way. UGH!

We’ll post photos later – maybe a video, too.

If you want to attend -

Essex County Tea party Rally

Newburyport, MA 01950

UPDATE

Wow! That was a lot of fun. Probably about 50-60 people and even a few dogs on a cloudy, cold, windy afternoon. The signs were clever and the creative. Lots of different sentiments but the overall thread was “I don’t need government interference in my life”. And despite the robo-calls asking for Dem supporters to show, lots more people outside than in, listening to the same old party line – eventually all this stimulus will make it to you.

But the action was outside. If you haven’t been to a tea party yet, find one and go. Everyone was very upbeat, aside from the one old grouchy guy – it was like my dad was there. And response to our upcoming Boston Tea Party was phenomenal. People were making plans to meet up with those they had just met, catching the train and coming to town. And also looking forward to 2010. Many are already seeing boosting membership in local Republican Town Committees and lots of motivation to find great candidates.

Get thee to a Tea Party!

Thanks to you, GOPMom, I found out about this teaparty. Thank you very much. My husband and I are re-invigorated and were so happy to be amongst our own. Can’t wait for April 15th.

  2. Bryan Genest says:

It was a rockin’ good time. I talked with a lot of people who are fired up and looking forward to April 15th at the Statehouse! Let’s keep it moving!

  3. Riverside Renewables Energy Company of West Newbury MA sponsors an International Star racing sloop painted red white and blue, her name is “Tea Party” of “Boston” Harbor Star Fleet

She is 22 feet long and the “Tea Party” name is 6″ high so it can be read from quite a distance.

She is in the back yard right now BUT I could park her in a high visability spot in Newburyport if it is a legal spot like under the route 1 Bridge? OR IN YOUR FRONT YARD? Riverside renewables (riversiderenewables.com) banner must be included in the display. OK?

Any ideas. she is on a single axle trailer weighing about 3,000 lbs.

    Thanks

    Dennis

    GOPMom:

Sorry I missed you on Saturday. ‘Hope to get to meet you in Boston on the 15th.

Have blogged the Newburyport tea party in several posts here:
    We are all anti-statists now

‘Got an Instalanche for my latest, “We’re all anti-statists now” . . . Good exposure for the cause! . . . and blogfriend Amy Kane, whom I got to meet for the first time Saturday, drew TWO Instalanches for her efforts.

    Good stuff.

  5. Judy says:
