GOPMOM Note: More Common Sense from the UK

Take the time to read this brilliant analysis from across the pond. I can’t tell you how comforting it is to know that there are a few left in England who also “get it”.

This will end in tears. The Obama hysteria is not merely embarrassing to witness, it is itself contributory to the scale of the disaster that is coming. What we are experiencing, in the deepening days of a global depression, is the desperate suspension of disbelief by people of intelligence – la trahison des clercs – in a pathetic effort to hypnotise themselves into the delusion that it will be all right on the night. It will not be all right.

Here’s another interesting piece of analysis that came from across the pond, skeptical about the President’s ability to actually reshape the role of America in the international system:

Actually, ATG, I found this piece nauseating. Are you sure Chris Matthews isn’t ghost writing? There is nothing more refreshing than an out-of-towner’s take on race and class relations in America, is there. This guy is deluding himself if he thinks a truly new era of bipartisanship and camaraderie has taken over America. And if it’s bad now, wait until we have to wrestle each other for the government cheese!

But, I do like his take on America’s diminishing role in international affairs. IMHO, we should tell the rest of the world that continually sucks at the teat of the American taxpayer to go, in the immortal words of the world’s wackiest Liberal, “suck it”. On the other hand, if they want to be able to rely on us when times get tough (think Georgia)then they should shut the F up. Britain is learning the hard way that bending over and letting the Progressives have their way with your government does not leave one with the warm fuzzies after all. I can only hope pray that us Americans, who have been blessed with one of the most prosperous, successful nations ever, will wake up before we find ourselves in that cheese line.

I personally think that bipartisanship is by and large a direct function of a President’s approval ratings, and I think that Obama has a better chance than most presidents of attaining and sustaining high enough approval ratings that the opposition party feels pressured to go along with him. Time will tell.

Bipartisanship is for hacks. If you subscribe to a political/economic philosophy and are asked to compromise your beliefs by supporting a policy that is in contrast to your beliefs, whether for the sake of bipartisanship or not, you’ve abandoned your philosophy. I have no use for a member of any party that abandons their belief system just so they can say they’ve crossed the aisle.

But I particularly have no use for any Republican who goes along with Obama just to say they did so – they tried to get along. There is nothing to get along with. All of Obama’s ideas are in complete contrast to conservative ideals and values. There is no room for negotiation. I say let him fail miserably and we’ll come back and clean up the mess – like we always do.

This clown is going to totally destroy our economy with huge deficits, through the roof taxes, a wrecked healthcare system that’s mandatory where everybody gets a whole lot of nothing (like they do in Britain and Canada), and finally….hyperinflation of everything with the dollar being worth next to nothing.

I have a feeling we are going to HATE Mr. Obama’s “change” before his first term is up. This dude and his Democrat cronies will be on their way out before too long. The real question is : Will we recognize our country when they are finished?? Will it be too late to turn back the clock? Hope it won’t be too late……

I’m with you, GOPMOM……NO ROOM FOR NEGOTIATIONS!!!! Who cares if the Republicans aren’t “playing nice”???? This isn’t kindergarten! Repubs better hold fast to conservative thinking or I feel they won’t have a shot at reversing the tide of ugliness next year!
