Surprise, surprise, surprise - I spend two days on the road and five more by the pool, disconnected from news and the internet and the Obama campaign goes all wonky again. It’s beginning to seem like he doesn’t want to be President after all.
First off, he gives a sermon (sorry, speech) at a (sorry, a different) church in Chicago on Father’s Day. Obama, who was raised without a father, chose Father’s Day to reach out to the black population in America and encourage black men to step up and honor their responsibility to their children. How original. Haven’t we heard this before? Excuse me but is Obama running for President or Pope? The popular leader of the Liberal movement is now lecturing on family values? Isn’t he part of the party that claims children should be raised by villages? That schools should teach personal liberty and freedom but not morality? That no government should stand in the way of one’s right to depravity? That babies are a punishment? But now he wants to stand up for accountability. OK, I could go for that if he included himself and the government he wants to create in this new vision. But, as a typical liberal, he simply passes off the advice to others.
Next, we were treated to the Michelle Obama love fest on The View. (Yes, I tried to watch it but only made it through the first 30 minutes because I had to go throw up.) But I just love her new image ““ a softer, kinder Mrs. Obama. Who knew she wore her heart on her sleeve ““ I thought it was a flower? I was especially touched by the panel’s gushing reassurance that no one in America ever “˜really’ doubted her pride in her country. She’s just another victim of - guess who ““ the media. (Aren’t the ladies on The View the media?) My favorite part, though, was when Whoopi thanked Michelle for representing black women in a positive light since, as she said, most black women featured on TV have no teeth and can’t string together a coherent sentence. Yikes, can you imagine a white TV host saying that to her? And how about Whoopi’s statement that diversity training is necessary because then black people would learn how to “œtalk like real people do”? Geez, I know a lot of publicity came out of her appearance but how much good could it have done the campaign when Whoopi spent the entire time obsessing over the black/white issue? Who books for Mrs. Obama anyway?
Then, we have the two Muslim women removed from their seats by campaign volunteers at an Obama event. Apparently they were seated behind the podium, in plain view of all the media. And they were wearing headscarves. Ouch, that has to hurt. It’s a bit Clintonesque, isn’t it ““ passing the buck to “˜unpaid volunteers’? As if by not paying them, there is no responsibility. Reminds me of the photos of the TX Obama office where the poster of Che Guevara is hanging in the office ““ not a lot of mainstream media coverage on that one either. If a Republican campaign ousted a Muslim from a campaign event because of their clothing, there would be hell to pay. But the left played this one nicely, claiming that it is the right that has created the “˜sensitive political climate’. I don’t know what they were afraid of ““ they could have played it off as what it was, two supporters representing yet another demographic.
And finally, the presumptive Democrat nominee for President unveils his new logo ““ his version of the Presidential seal. Is this how desperate the Dem’s are, that they hope that by simply sitting Obama behind the seal, we’ll all magically lean left? Wasn’t this the reason behind the West Wing television show ““ some sort of mind- bending attempt to make us all comfortable with having a Hispanic President? Or wasn’t there another show with a woman President? The tricks and slight of hand are ridiculous. Of course it is offensive and presumptive of Obama to make up his own seal, mimicking that of the President. It is offensive to all Americans because we haven’t voted yet. The use of the seal is a privilege Obama has not earned. Of course, he could always change the eagle to a chicken. And instead of holding a quiver of arrows, it could be waving a white flag.

Barack’s Seal is pure cheeseball, pretentious, and juvenile. Will SNL jump all over this? I doubt it. With that seal it would be fitting for BHO to wear a Burger King crown when he is at the podium. With this latest piece of work I believe he might be a malignant narcissist.
Comment by gopmom on 23 June 2008:
OMG, John. The image of that BK crown just made my day. I’m still in FL with family so I haven’t seen any coverage, but is he still using it? Check out the conspiracy theorists on Michelle Malkin - they have a lot to say about the seal, too.
I guess I’m still flabbergasted that more people aren’t ticked off at this. It is the height of arrogance - and it is a perfect example of why this yahoo does not deserve the honor of serving as President.

Did you know he named his plane O-Force one…Talk about rude. Why doesn’t he just knock Bush off..

The only comments you post are those of people with views much like your own, why don’t you grow some balls and post comments from people who don’t agree with you? Typical republican.. and please get a life, stop QQ-ing, grow a mind, and go read a book, it’s apparent you need to.
Comment by Ryo on 16 October 2008:
FYI Wrench, if you read what you posted, Barack didn’t recreate the seal for any of those uses.. *shrug* but I forgot republicans make stuff up all the time..
Comment by gopmom on 17 October 2008:
UH, RYO, did you read any of the current comments? If there is anything we are not short of here, it is comments from people who think I’m ridiculous. And the comments are largely unmoderated - except for profanity, links and videos. Unfortunately, my husband was unable to create a stupid filter, which would have blocked your comments.
Comment by Ryo on 19 October 2008:
Ah, thank you for making my point.
