Assault on the Capitol

Why is there no national outrage over the complete & cooperative lack of law enforcement at the Capitol building this past weekend? Why did the Capitol Police stand by and allow a group of anti-war protesters mount the Capitol steps, hold a rally, and vandalize government property? At the very least, this was trespassing.

No more cookies

I write this only 10 minutes after my precious daughter made her last Girl Scout cookie sale. I’m very proud of her ““ she did a great job. Unfortunately, just five minutes ago I caught the video on FoxNews.com about the upcoming “NEW” Girl Scouts. Have you seen it yet? Find it and watch it. You’ll be shocked.

State of the Nation, what I would have said…

Well, since I’m doing this blog thing now, I suppose I’m expected to deliver some clever, intelligent and thought provoking statement in light of last evening’s State of the Union Address. I got nothing. And I’ve been trying to come up with something since 10:00 last night. I am quite disappointed. I’m disappointed in the President and for the President. I don’t know about you, but I thought it was a waste of time to even watch. I definitely could have sat through another hour of those awful Memphis American Idol auditions.

The Conservative Debate

I’m sure you can imagine that as an outspoken Conservative Republican living in Massachusetts, I have to have a pretty thick skin. It never ceases to amaze me that total strangers will accost me in any and all locations, usually to debate the validity of the points expressed on my bumper stickers. Of course, my first thought is if I have chosen to put a sticker on my car and drive around town, then it is unlikely a grocery store parking lot debate is going to change my mind.

It’s them or us.

OK, so I don’t know if you’ve seen or heard anything about Sen. Clinton’s press conference this afternoon, but I just have to say something about it. I think the reason she is so reticent for the US to be aggressive in Iraq is that she suffers from low self-esteem. I mean, look what her husband put her through and she is still by his side. She obviously thinks very little of herself. Unfortunately, this personality trait has cascaded over into her professional life. She now expects all of us to be doormats, all in the name of popularity polls. Well, no thank you, Senator Clinton.

SADDAM HUSSEIN WAS LYNCHED

You heard it here first. Well actually, you heard it on FoxNews this morning ““ if you were listening really carefully as Rep. Charlie Rangel was finishing an interview. He made an aside comment on the “lynching of Sadaam Hussein.” I don’t think the news anchors even heard it ““ or maybe they were too stunned to respond. But I heard it clear as day as I poured myself a cup of coffee. Rep. Rangel, D-NY said Sadaam Hussein was lynched.

Top Conundrums of 2007

20% Resolution

As it is the New Year, I , like you, have been repeatedly queried about my resolutions. Well, I have had a few days to think about it. I am usually cautious about resolutions. In my former life, I was a type-A, over-achiever. Not so much now. I only take on projects I can reasonably complete. So, I’m taking the advice of all the experts, and lowering my expectations. I’m resolving to make small changes. I resolve to do 20%.
